Canada Permanent Residence from Kenya

Permanent residence lets you live, work and study anywhere in Canada, bring your family, and eventually become a citizen. For skilled Kenyans, Express Entry is often the fastest route, and it doesn't need a job offer.

Main PR routes for Kenyans

  • Express Entry: Federal Skilled Worker (FSW): For skilled workers with at least 1 year of continuous skilled work experience (TEER 0–3), a post-secondary credential, and CLB 7 language scores. No job offer needed.
  • Provincial Nominee Programs (PNP): Provinces nominate people they need. A nomination adds 600 CRS points in Express Entry.
  • Category-based draws: IRCC also invites people in priority fields (recently healthcare, trades, education and French speakers).
  • Canadian Experience Class: For people who already have skilled work experience in Canada, e.g. after studying there.
  • Regional programs: Such as the Atlantic Immigration Program, which needs a job offer from a designated employer.

    FAQs

    Permanent Residence: common questions

Can I apply for Canada PR from Kenya without a job offer?

Yes. The Federal Skilled Worker Program under Express Entry doesn't require a job offer. You need enough points on the FSW 67-point grid and a competitive CRS score.

What CRS score do I need?

It changes with every draw and category. Rather than chasing a single number, we focus on raising your score: language results, a spouse's profile, French, provincial nominations and more.

How much money do I need for Express Entry?

FSW applicants without a valid Canadian job offer must show settlement funds that depend on family size. IRCC updates these yearly. We'll give you the current figure for your family.

    Is there an age limit?

There's no strict upper limit, but CRS points for age drop after 29 and reach zero at 45. Older applicants can still succeed with strong language, education or provincial nominations.
